Mexican food has something for everyone: spicy, crunchy, savory, and colorful, the best Mexican food always satisfies. If you’re new to Nitro, WV, or looking for a new favorite spot, try one of these restaurants on our list.

Rocas Mexican Grill

This is an amazing place. The place is clean, has great service, and the food is to die for. Expect to find only the freshest ingredients and perfectly seasoned food that’s always made to order. They also have a delicious and extensive drinks list, so choose a designated driver, remember to drink responsibly, and come indulge in a classic Cuba Libre, one of their many specialty margaritas, or a fine tequila.

For food, be sure to try the altos dip or the bean and cheese nachos. The grilled tilapia with shrimp is perfect for anyone who loves seafood, and their tacos, enchiladas, and burritos are made to order and can easily be adjusted to your tastes. There are tons of vegetarian options, too. For carnivores, try the pork Chile verda and the amazing PiƱa Loca, which is a pineapple stuffed with vegetables and shrimp, chorizo, steak, and chicken.

Rio Grande

This place might be one of the most popular places in all of West Virginia, of any cuisine type. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the prices are great. Portions are generous, and it has fast-food pricing for better quality and service.

We recommend trying the chimichanga, the fajitas, and their excellent margaritas. The tacos and enchiladas are what get the most raves by customers, and their homemade salsa is delicious. Service is also fast, and the owners are nearly always there if you have any suggestions or concerns.

Cozumel Mexican Grill

For amazing tacos, great, friendly staff, and huge portions, you can’t do better than Cozumel’s. Don’t miss their happy hour from 2pm to 6pm every weeknight, including Friday, and if you haven’t been there for lunch, give their specials a try.

The nachos here are the best we’ve ever had. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, so bring the kids or your friends: you’ll always have a great time. Try the carnitas, which comes with roasted onion and fresh avocado, and the Chile Colorado is another dish you have to try.

El Rancho Grande

The final spot on our list is in Scott Depot, but it’s worth the short 15-minute drive if you’re looking for something different. This is a great place when you need a night out with your friends or a date-night destination. The drinks here are good but strong: be sure to drink responsibly! The micheladas are a particular favorite of ours.

Standout choices include the burritos and fajitas, the Chile relleno, and their cheese dip. You won’t be able to stop putting their homemade salsa on everything, and the carnitas are worth a try, too.

When you’ve had your fill of great nachos, tacos, and carnitas, visit Walker Chevrolet for a great new vehicle, excellent service, and more tips about the best places to eat in our hometown.
