Great Power and Performance It's easy to accelerate onto the freeway and pass slow cars on your way to work with the two powertrain options. The four lower trims have a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission. Under the hood of the Premier trim, you'll find a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission pairs with the latter engine. The combined EPA fuel economy ranges from 26 mpg to 36 mpg. Roomy Interior With two rows of seats, up to five people ride comfortably inside of the 2021 Malibu. Stain-resistant premium cloth fabric covers the seats, and as you move up the trims, or add the Leather Package, the Malibu has features such as leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The dual reading lamps and overhead courtesy light make reading maps, reports, or your current book a breeze during the commute. You can carry plenty of supplies and briefcases in the trunk of the Malibu with 15.7 cubic feet of cargo space. Advanced Technology The four lower trims of the 2021 Malibu have Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 system with an 8-inch diagonal touch screen. When you choose the Premier trim, you get the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus System that comes with navigation and an 8-inch diagonal HD color touch screen. All trims come standard with a Driver Information Center which includes driver personalization, important vehicle information, and warning messages. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration come standard on all of the Malibu trims, and the Premier has wireless charging for mobile devices. Additional standard features include OnStar Connected Services, keyless open and start, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot.
